A cultural tourism promotion meeting of Fenghuang County, Zhuhai City, Hong Kong and Macao, as well as a roundtable forum on high-quality development of tourism in Fenghuang County connecting with the GBA, was held in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province on June 21.
Relevant officials of the culture and tourism departments of Zhuhai and Xiangxi Prefecture jointly discussed how to promote the integrated development of cultural tourism in the two places.
This forum aims to promote cultural tourism resources of Fenghuang, Zhuhai, Hong Kong and Macao, and the high-quality tourism development of Fenghuang connecting with the GBA.
Zhuhai Zhengyuan Elderly Care Service Company and Fenghuang Travel Investment Development and Construction Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly create high-quality tourism routes suitable for elderly health and youth education in Zhuhai, Hong Kong, and Macao.
The first batch of 16 influential cultural tourism recommendators in Fenghuang County and the GBA will be hired to promote Fenghuang’s cultural tourism.
Recently, the high-speed railway connecting Zhangjiajie with Hong Kong West Kowloon was officially opened, passing through Hong Kong West Kowloon, Shenzhen, Fenghuang County and other places.
The convenient transportation has greatly shortened the distance between Hong Kong and Xiangxi Prefecture, and created new opportunities for the high-quality economic development in Xiangxi Prefecture.
“Fenghuang is a historical and tourism city. I have worked and lived in Fenghuang County. The charm of its natural scenery and profound culture gives it a sense of mystery for those who have not visited it,” said Wu Qiaoling, deputy general manager of China Travel Service (Hong Kong) Limited.
Fenghuang Ancient Town, with a total area of about 4.39 square kilometers, is situated by mountains and waters. The ancient Miao buildings on both sides of the river are made of blue bricks and gray tiles.
In recent years, the scenic area has worked to promote the improvement and upgrading of the tourism environment, standardize the tourism market, and improve tourism service facilities.
In February this year, the scenic area became a national 5A level tourist attraction, and Tongren Fenghuang Airport was approved for opening to the public. The number of tourists visiting Fenghuang Ancient Town continued to increase.
